How to Replace Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensors 2002-2006 Honda CR-V
Description
This video shows you how to install a new ABS wheel speed sensor for your 2002-2006 Honda CR-V. ABS wheel speed sensors are critical to the operation of your vehicle's ABS and ESC systems, which use real time wheel speed data to ensure your vehicle stays safe and on the road. These magnetic sensors are sensitive and susceptible to damage, which would require replacing them.
Install Instructions
1. Remove Rear Wheel
Using a 19 mm socket, remove the lug nuts on the rear wheel
Hold the wheel as you remove the last lug nut, then take the wheel off
2. Remove Speed Sensor Bolt
Use a 10 mm socket to remove the bolt securing the speed sensor
3. Pry Out Speed Sensor
Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully twist and pry the speed sensor out of its housing
Work it gently back and forth as needed
4. Detach Sensor Wire and Connector
Pop the sensor wire out of its bracket
Use a trim tool to remove the wire from the body clips
Then press the tab on the connector and disconnect the ABS sensor from the frame-mounted plug
5. Install New Sensor and Secure Wiring
Ensure the sensor clicks into the connector
Insert the plastic grommet into the body and secure the wire in the bracket on the control arm
6. Reinstall Speed Sensor to Hub
Insert the new speed sensor into the hub with the bolt hole facing inward
Start the bolt and tighten it to wrist tightness
7. Reinstall Rear Wheel
Place the wheel back on and hand-tighten the lug nuts

Snug the lug nuts in a star pattern
Torque them to 80 ft-lbs, then go around again to double-check
